Source: talentculture.com

Confidence can refer to a general sense of belief and trust in your own capability to control your life. Having self- confidence can lead to greater success. The thoughts, feelings and beliefs we hold about ourselves can affect our mental and physical health to a great extent.

It’s common to lose some confidence as you become older because your body changes and you face many unfavorable situations. Having low self-esteem can have a negative effect on our health, relationships or career life.

There are a number of ways you can regain your confidence but these are just some of my favorite steps that worked for me.

Here they are-

1. Change Your Thoughts

Every time you doubt yourself or think negative about yourself, just change your thoughts. Say to yourself that these problems are just in your head and you are not allowing them to affect you. Stand up for yourself and others who are facing same problem. Start thinking positive from now onward.

2. Face Your Fears

Everyone has some fears and phobias. Some people don’t want to admit it that they are having fears in their mind. Fear of dark, fear of drowning, fear of heights etc.are natural fears that everyone has. Face your fears, it will give a boost to your confidence.

3. Be Grateful

By practising gratitude, you’ll change your perspective. Focus on the present moment because it’s all you have right now. Instead of being upset about your loss, feel grateful for the food you eat, the air you breathe, the water you drink and the clothes you have because there are people who are struggling for all these things. Learn to appreciate everything around you.

4. Pamper Yourself

Do what makes you happy. Try to take time out from your busy schedule for ME- TIME every day. You’re more likely to think positively and gain self- confidence, if you spend time doing the things you love and enjoy. Whether that’s hanging out with friends, reading your favorite book, cooking or just taking a beauty nap, if it makes you happy and more confident, just make time for it.
